SaaS Development for Startups — MVPs, Product Engineering & Fractional Teams

Startups have one resource: time before the next round. We ship what's needed for that milestone — and write it well enough that you don't pay for it twice when you grow the team in-house.

What we hear from SaaS Startups teams

    • Founder + 1 engineer shipping fast, but losing weeks to plumbing (auth, billing, infra) that doesn't move metrics
    • MVP shipped, but the next 5 customers want features the codebase can't absorb
    • Time-to-Series-A is 6 months and the hiring funnel for senior engineers is empty
    • Founder ICP-coding is killing the founder's ability to sell
    • A V1 built in 2023 that everyone agrees needs to be rebuilt before V2 — but nobody has time
    • An overseas dev shop delivered something that compiles but nobody understands

Regulation & compliance we work with

SOC 2 Type I → II (required to sell into mid-market & enterprise)
GDPR & CCPA (any EU/CA user data)
Payment-vendor compliance (Stripe Atlas, Paddle, LemonSqueezy for tax)
    Subprocessor disclosure (DPA, sub-DPA chains)
Industry-vertical compliance if your customers are regulated (HIPAA, FINRA, etc.)

    What we deliver

MVPs that ship in 8–16 weeks and don't need a rewrite at 100 customers
Fractional engineering pods (1 lead + 1–3 engineers) embedded with the founder
SaaS infrastructure bootstrap: auth (Clerk, WorkOS, Auth0), billing (Stripe), email, analytics, telemetry
B2B-ready features: SSO, SCIM provisioning, audit logs, role-based permissions, API
Migration off no-code/low-code (Bubble, Retool, Airtable backends) when scale forces the move
Compliance-ready architecture (SOC 2 audit-ready from day one)
Hand-off documentation and pair-programming with your first in-house hires

    FAQ

How is this different from a normal dev shop?
We're not a body shop. We staff a small senior pod (lead + 1–3 engineers) embedded with the founder, with the lead in product/architecture conversations directly. The lead doesn't change between sprints. You get someone who knows the product like a co-founder for the duration of the engagement.
Do you sign NDAs and assign IP to us?
Yes. Standard MSA + SOW with full work-for-hire IP assignment. NDAs before any discovery. You own the code, the architecture diagrams, the deployment infra, the documentation — everything we produce.
What if our funding runs out mid-engagement?
We size engagements in 6-week increments. At the end of each increment you can pause, descope, or continue — no termination fees. We've shipped MVPs to founders who then went and hired in-house with our team helping ramp; we've also paused engagements when a round slipped and resumed 3 months later.
Can you take over a codebase from another agency?
Yes, and the first week is always a written audit before we commit to building anything new. We've inherited Bubble apps, no-code stacks, offshore deliverables, and previously-rage-quit projects. The audit tells you honestly whether to extend or rebuild.
Do you do GTM / marketing / design as well?
Product design and engineering — yes. Brand design, performance marketing, content marketing — no. We'll point you at people we trust, but we don't run growth campaigns.
